With Leyla’s diverse background, it is no surprise of her connection to varieties of music, as she believes that music is the most expressive language of culture. Being born in Switzerland, and having lived in the South, West, East, and now the Midwest of the US, music has been the most efficient way to connect with people.
Her first time on a stage with a microphone was when she was 3 years old. Her childhood toys consisted of karaoke machines, audio recording playsets, and of course Barbies that came with audio cassettes to sing along to. Leyla had many school concert solos and has even performed during a halftime show at a Philadephia Sixers Game. Her middle school music teacher spent an entire summer with her recording a demo to send to talent agents.
Leyla’s dreams of being in the music industry quickly subdued when highschool graduation was approaching, and she was being advised to take her future seriously by focusing on a college degree. Having graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice, then moving forward with a real estate license, she found her passion for music still lingered. In 2017, Leyla found a hiring ad for a DJ company and was immediately intrigued. It felt as if at last she finally found her calling.
After the Pandemic started, her former employer notified her he was joining Party Pleasers and recommended she interview as well. It was not long until she accepted a full time position with Party Pleasers. She received the 2021 Rookie of the Year and Rockstar DJ awards. Leyla loves seeing how music brings loved ones together and being able to witness those special moments. Her style is to accommodate each event accordingly. Every family, group of friends, or colleagues has their own culture, story, commonalities, and it is her obligation to use music to bring those to life during events.
